How I became involved

 

Chapter 1

 "Please, don't hurt me, I'm just coming from Asaba and I've spent all my money, all I have left is my phone with me" she said.Replying, the masked man said "if you no wan give me money, you fit give me body".At this point Helen was already shivering on her knees pleading with the man in the mask that he shouldn't touch her, " take all you want,take my watch ,take my phone,take my earrings, take everything please but don't hurt me please" . Furious he grabbed her by the arm dragging her to a particular direction covered with bush,while doing this a red Toyota highlander 2016 model passed, Helen wished the driver or someone in the car could see what was happening but to her disappointment the car drove passed.
"Oga I see person dey drag one girl just now like say he wan beat am" Chima, the driver said to his boss.
"You said what?" Replied his boss.
Chima repeated himself. "Will you take the car back to where you saw it?" He commanded, almost yelling.
Chima quickly did as he was told, by the time he got to the spot, they could barely see anyone but they started searching for whomever Chima said he saw.
"I dey hear something like say person dey come, oya stand up make you begin they run" the man in the mask said this pointing a gun at her. Helen started to walk slowly as if she were limping just to slow down the journey, he yelled "you dey craze abi you think say you get sense, if you no go move,I go move you" he grabbed her arm and started running.
Apparently, Chima and his boss already heard this so they started searching seriously, immediately Chima sighted them he yelled "Oga see them" his boss replied "run after them while I call the police"
Chima didn't waste time at all, the way he ran you would think he ran for a living. Seeing that He couldn't keep holding on to Helen while running since she was slowing him down he let go of her arm and started running like his life depended on it. The way he let go of Helen's arm was so aggressive that she fell on the ground, Chima quickly caught up with her "sister you dey okay so?" , answering as if she were whispering "ye-es I'm fine", " Thank God o" replied Chima.
On their way back to where he left his boss they already began hearing sirens which signified that the police was nearby.
